The Moonlight Message by Denice Barlow Brown and Illustrated by Denise Barlow Brown
When I was asked if I would be interested in reviewing a new children's book that was the beginnings of a new series, I jumped at the chance. This wonderful new concept in children's literature was a great concept. This first volume in the Personal Responsibility Founders Series is about two sisters, Rachel and Grace Martin, who are living in fear of the Redcoats since all the men from their village are off fighting a war. Since all the men are off fighting the King's men, it's left to the women to do their share. Rachel and Grace decide to disguise themselves as boys to capture a spy for their side and wind up saving the day. They are able to pass on a piece of parchment to General Nathaniel Greene at the edge of their village. The illustrations on each page bring the excitement of this thrilling and courageous adventure to a climax. I look forward to the next installment of this very unique and much needed series to children everywhere.
I received my review copy from an editor and author, Robyn Hertzler.

Welcome to the Book Review blog of the LDS Forever Friends Email Group. This is where you'll book reviews of every book we read. Orson F. Whitney said, "We will yet have Miltons and Shakespeares of our own. God's ammunition is not exhausted. His brightest spirits are held in reserve for the latter times. In God's name and by his help we will build up a literature whose top shall touch heaven, though its foundations may now be low in earth."
