Welcome to the Book Review blog of the LDS Forever Friends Email Group. This is where you'll book reviews of every book we read. Orson F. Whitney said, "We will yet have Miltons and Shakespeares of our own. God's ammunition is not exhausted. His brightest spirits are held in reserve for the latter times. In God's name and by his help we will build up a literature whose top shall touch heaven, though its foundations may now be low in earth."

A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief: Text by James Montgomery and Paintings by Sarah Merkley
A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief: Text by James Montgomery
Paintings by Sarah Merkley
This beautiful and poignant and popular hymn is set with exquisite paintings to stir the soul. The paintings bring out vivid images of what this poem means. This illustrated book tells the story behind the poem, which was originally titled "The Stranger and His Friend." This book should be in everyone's home to feast on Our Savior's love for all of us. Sarah's artistry can be compared to Simon Dewey, Greg Olsen and Del Parson. I think of John Taylor singing this wonderful hymn before and after the martrydom with his wonderful voice.
