Welcome to the Book Review blog of the LDS Forever Friends Email Group. This is where you'll book reviews of every book we read. Orson F. Whitney said, "We will yet have Miltons and Shakespeares of our own. God's ammunition is not exhausted. His brightest spirits are held in reserve for the latter times. In God's name and by his help we will build up a literature whose top shall touch heaven, though its foundations may now be low in earth."

The Great and Terrible Vol. 5: From The End Of Heaven by Chris Stewart
The Great and Terrible Vol 5: From The End Of Heaven by Chris Stewart
This Volume is just as mesmerizing as the previous book, but since this one was a Whitney finalist this year, I'd say it's a tad better. We see The Brighton's, Mary, her young, cancer-ridden daughter Kelly Beth and Azadeh keeping one step ahead of the enemy. Bono is attempting to reach his wife and daughter in Memphis, while Sam tries to find his family near Chicago. The never-ending battle between Good and Evil keeps you reading far into the night. This is the best last days series I've ever read, so do yourselves a favor and run to your nearest bookstore, library or amazon to get a copy.

The Great and Terrible Vol 4: Fury and Light by Chris Stewart
The Great and Terrible Vol 4: Fury and Light by Chris Stewart
This installmen of Chris's fantastic and mesmerizing end days series was the best thus far in my book. I thoroughly enjoyed an d was held spellbound by what was happening to the Brighton's along the way after the aftermath of an EMP devastated America. It showed how miracles can still happen amidst chaos, even with Satan and his minions doing their dastardly evil. This volume shows how an EMP throws America back to the pre-industrial age and how we as Americans would have to survive with more ancient modes of travel and survival. Since I just started Vol. 5 in this fantastic thriller, you'll be getting a review soon and of vol. 6 as well. If you haven't read these books, do yourself a huge favor and do so, you'll be glad you did.

Confessions of A Completely Insane Mother by Kersten Campbell
Confessions of A Completely Insane Mother by Kersten Campbell
Kersten is a new author and her foray into the humorous realms of motherhood are priceless. There is an absolutely hilarious tale of one of her daughters "flying" that just had me in stitches just visualizing the situation. Each of her lessons we can all learn from, even us grandmothers. We all can use a lot of humor in our everyday lives to get through all the stresses of raising our children. I had the opportunity of finishing this little book of wisdom while waiting to see my Oncologist yesterday and it was al I could do not to laugh out loud. This is a book to treasure for the insights Kersten has. I was wondering how she would handle her Primary lesson, bujt she did with grace.

Life Is Tough: I Doubt I'll Make It Out Alive by Stacy Gooch-Anderson
Life Is Tough: I Doubt I'll Make It Out Alive by Stacy Gooch-Anderson
This little gem of a book teaches us that life is tough, but by using humor and laughter in our everyday life, we can make it out alive. Stacy sets her book out in 28 lessons and each one teaches us a bit more perspective on each little situation that sometimes gets to us. The fact that we're all beset by the little or big stresses we have, it's how we handle it with grace, courage and humor that lets us build our character. This book I enjoyed reading to my wonderful hubby, even letting him read a lesson to me. This is a great book for husbands and wives to read together. I highly recommend this book.

Her Good Name by Josi S. Kilpack
Her Good Name by Josi S. Kilpack
Since identity theft is the number #1 crime in America for the 8th straight year, I was very interested in reading Josi's newest issue book. She has such a knack in really delving into an issue that is very relevant in today's society. Chrissy Salazar meets Micah Heet in a cafe on a blind date, never realizing from that date that Chrissy's identity would be stolen from her. With Micah's help as a loan officer, she is able to get her identity back amidst all the red tape that gets in her way. With this enlightening look at this horrific crime, we're able to see how difficult it is to reclaim your identity, especially with how intelligent and crafty these criminals are and that they are professionals in what they do. This is a must read novel for everyone that wants to be knowledgable about this crime that could happen to any of us, as it happened to my sister.
